Rail freight for dangerous goods

Rail carriage of regulated cargo under RID, for volumes and corridors where rail is the better answer than road.

hansa express road transport

In short

Rail suits weight, distance and corridors where road capacity or route restrictions make trucking impractical. It is planned as part of a door-to-door lane, not sold as a mode on its own.

What governs it

RID governs international rail carriage of dangerous goods, closely aligned with ADR but with its own wagon, marshalling and acceptance requirements. The practical questions are terminal acceptance at each end and how the first and last miles are covered.

What we arrange

Moving something that needs rail freight?

Send the cargo, the two ends of the lane and the date. If we cannot move it ourselves we will tell you who can — same day.
